Mr. Mitchell is a bishop of the Anglican Province of Christ the King and retired Police Officer/Firefighter. During his tenure as a police officer he served as a patrol officer and detective specializing in the investigation of violent crimes. He has been trained by the California Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) and California Department of Justice as a homicide investigator and crime scene analysis technician. He was trained by the F.B.I. as a hostage negotiator and served on an elite police hostage negotiations team.
He has specialized in the areas of arson, bomb scene, and post-blast investigations after receiving training from the A.T.F., F.B.I., and California State Fire Marshal’s Arson and Bomb Unit.
Mr. Mitchell has a M.A. in Counseling Psychology, is a certified police chaplain, and has counseled and assisted victims of violent crimes. He is rector of St. Luke's Anglican Church in Redding, California.
